Challenge
As a Lead UI Designer at Viessmann, I focused on bridging the gap between design and engineering for our flagship B2C app, ViCare. Beyond core product design, I transformed our internal culture by implementing a new Figma-based workflow and scaled design operations by migrating the ecosystem from Sketch to Figma and architecting a comprehensive design system of 100+ standardized components, streamlining the handover process and ensuring a unified brand experience across the product.

The ViCare app serves as a complete home ecosystem, acting as a one-stop destination for the entire smart home journey. Viessmann had the unique value proposition of being the only brand to offer full control of your home system using only one app.
Below is the HEMS (Home Energy Management System) feature of the app, this includes: management of inverter and battery systems, EV charger and Dynamic Tariffs.
The app positions Viessmann not merely as a heating company, but as an intelligent platform that supports users through every stage of their smart home journey.
Results
By identifying friction points in the main flows and overhauling the visual hierarchy, I led a redesign that improved app store ratings from 2.7 to 4.6 stars and measurably increased user satisfaction.
